Oliver Diglesias, whose real name is Oliver Javier Díaz Iglesias is a singer, journalist and presenter of Colombian TV stations such as Canal 23 and RCN TV Network.

Raised in Barranquilla, Colombia, Diglesias was born on November 19, 1986. Once finished with his high school, he decides to study journalism as a second option since he was pursuing a career as an artist, according to El Heraldo de Barranquilla Newspaper on its August 2, 2009 issue.
On June 2003 and encouraged by his mother, Diglesias starts his undergraduate studies in the School of Social Communication and Journalism of Universidad Autónoma del Caribe. Rather than practice the profession, he did it to promote his artistic career
Nonetheless, during his studies in Barranquilla Oliver was recipient of 7 scholarships for his outstanding academic achievements, along with a special distinction to continue with his Graduate Studies.
In 2004, Oliver Diglesias started to work for Barranquilla’s Canal 23 in a local news program. Afterwards, he became the weekly host and director. At age 21, he was selected as staffer for RCN Colombia News, South America’s first English language newscast beginning as an intern and being hired later as a producer and weekend anchor. In addition, he hosted popular weekly segments “My Colombia” and “My Spanish Lessons”, showcasing the best of Colombia’s culture: dances, foods and slangs. While working for RCN, Oliver also reported certain events of latinamerican importance such as the Fifth Summit of the Americas, 2009 Interamerican Development Bank Assembly and Barranquilla’s Carnival, the same year.
