Ole Goethe is a Norwegian researcher and Associate Professor in the Department of Motion Pictures, Television and Games at Westerdals Oslo School of Arts, Communication and Technology specializing in the Life Sciences that comprise the fields of Anatomy and Physiology, Kinesiology and Cognitivity applied through the Arts and Interaction Designs. The research is focused on user engagement in human–computer interaction.
Contents
As an industry professional, he has primarily worked as a Lead Animator, Art Director and Supervisor for film, games, and motion graphics. In addition he has also a strong experience with interactive applications ranging from consoles to online games, native- and web apps and SaaS frameworks.
Biography
Ole Goethe received a BFA in animation and MFA in motion picture from the Academy of Art University.
He produced his first film in 2004. In mid 1990s, he also worked as a member in demo group named Andromeda. There he was an active Amiga Pixel artist. The further study which he pursued in the field of multimedia programming enhanced his passion for computer graphics and animation.
Ole Goethe started using CGI software for the purpose of generating computer animation and was advocated by Pixar professionals. Goethe has also worked for Darkworks in Paris and Factor 5 which was considered a giant and reputed name in the US games industry. At Factor 5 he worked both as cinematic animator and supervisor.
Work
Ole Goethe's research interests are in the interdisciplinary field between digital humanities, interaction science, and life sciences. He is also applying human factors in human–computer interaction.
