Oceanside High School is an American public secondary school located in Oceanside, New York. It is part of the Oceanside School District. In a 2012 Newsweek ranking of the top 1,000 public high schools in the United States, Oceanside High School was ranked #424. The School was Initially built in 1937 and expanded in 1962. The School's mascot is the Sailor and teams compete countywide in a variety of sports. The Principal is Geraldine De Carlo, who was promoted from Associate Principal and replaced Mark Secaur in 2013. Oceanside High School, under the leadership of Mrs. De Carlo has played an important role in the community, particularly after Hurricane Sandy, when its teachers helped those in need. The school also has a well-run film program, and hosts a film festival each year, showing entries from students from all grade levels. The Broadcast Program, has collaborated with MSG Varsity, as most local schools have, and has been featured on some of their programming.

As of the 2014-15 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,782 students and 130.1 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 13.7:1. There were 152 students (8.5% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 32 (1.8% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

Its football team, the Oceanside Sailors, went to the Long Island County championship the 2015 season.

  • Bob Iger, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of The Walt Disney Company
  • Jay Fiedler was a quarterback in the NFL for the Philadelphia Eagles from 1994–1995, the Minnesota Vikings in 1998, and the Jacksonville Jaguars in 1999. He then played for the Miami Dolphins from 2000 to 2004. In 2005 he signed with New York Jets and suffered a shoulder injury which would be the end his of his professional career.
