Obuobia Darko-Opoku (born 22 August 1977) is a Ghanaian politician and journalist who is a Parliamentary Aspirant for the 2016 Weija-Gbawe constituency seat in Ghana and Deputy Executive Secretary of the Ghana Free Zones Board. She is a member of the ruling party National Democratic Congress and founder of the Obuobia Foundation.

    Obuobia Darko-Opoku lost her bid when she contested the Weija-Gbawe Constituency seat in the 2012 elections, she still continues a philanthropic work by providing support to her constituency through the Obuobia Foundation.

    Humanity

    Obuobia Darko-Opoku donated items to the Muslim community in her constituency. The donation was to help the community organise what she described as “one of the memorable 2016 Eid al-Fitr celebrations. She also visited patients and hospital in her constituency. Every patient at the various wards at the hospital where Obuobia Darko-Opoku visited, personally was given a present.She further stressed that, the hospital would need a separate ward for both babies and adults.She was accompanied by Constituency and Branch Executives of the party.

Even though she lost her bid when she contested the Weija-Gbawe Constituency seat in the 2012 elections, she still continues a philanthropic work by providing support to her constituency through the Obuobia Foundation. With experience in Journalism and marketing, she has also acquired extensive multicultural experience. Her hobbies are reading, writing articles, cooking, driving and watching football, a proud fan of Manchester United.

    OBUOBIA DARKO-OPOKU ON ISSUES Jobs and Economic Development Obuobia has through her foundation provided jobs for people as well as helped them acquire soft loans to facilitate their businesses.She also motivates the youth to acquire relevant skills that will help them in future. Health Obuobia has pledged to continue championing good healthcare to the various people within the Foundation's catchment areas but more importantly the Weija-Gbawe Constituency. She has registered people on the National Health Insurance(NHIS).She is also planning a major Medical Outreach within the Weija Gbawe constituency. Obuobia Darko-Opoku has also donated 17,000 litre water tank to Akawe a health center in the Ga south municipality. Environment Obuobia favours a clean and healthy environment.She believes that a clean environment promotes good health.She regularly mobilises the people in the community to undertake clean-up exercises as well as education on how to make the environment clean and healthy. Obuobia Darko-Opoku in her quest to bringing quality water supply to the constituents, she donated a 17,000 litre water tank to the people of Wiaboman as a short time measure as she collaborates with Ghana water company to get the community connected permanently.
