O Monstro Precisa de Amigos was the second and final album by Portuguese band Ornatos Violeta. The album was released in 1999. Two music videos were filmed, for the songs "Ouvi Dizer" and "Capitão Romance". Gordon Gano from the Violent Femmes shared vocal duties (singing in Portuguese) with Manuel Cruz, the lead singer of the band on the track Capitão Romance.
