The school campus is located on the edge of Worcester, surrounded by some 15 acres (61,000 m2) of gardens and playing fields which it shares with the adjacent Sixth Form College. The school benefits from refurbished or purpose built extensions including facilities for Science, English, Music, Art & Design, Languages and ICT. The school's sports centre has an all-weather outdoor pitch and athletics track.

In 2008, 73% of students achieved five or more A*-C GCSE qualifications. In November 2013, year 11 students had the highest pass rate of all time for the school in the English Language GCSE, with over 82% of the school year achieving A*-C GCSE qualifications. Following an October 2008 inspection, the school was accorded a Grade 1 (Outstanding) overall assessment.

The school became a science college in 2004.
