Novel Nature is an alternative rock band from Seattle, Washington, United States. Formed in July 2013, the band comprises songwriters/producers Shane Lance (lead vocals, guitars, keys) and Emerson Shotwell (drums, percussion). The Los Angeles based magazine Local Wolves noted, "while classified as alternative, Novel Nature has a unique and distinct sound that gives the band its identity."
Contents
The duo met in elementary school where they began writing songs together.
The band quickly grew a cult following after the release of their debut single "1937" on Soundcloud, quickly amassing over 25,000 plays and an instant popularity.
The band is currently in the studio writing and recording their debut album to compliment their May 2014 EP release "Nylon Nation".
According to Los Angeles-based music blog The A&R Radar, "The EP entitled 'Nylon Nation' already gained them a spot in the top 200 Alternative Charts in the country. The future is bright for these seasoned musicians. Keep them on your radar… it’s only the beginning."
Formation
Shane Lance and Emerson Shotwell first met during elementary school. They began playing in bands throughout their junior high and high school days. After the disbandment of international touring rock band Roman Holiday (band), Shotwell and Lance decided to start the new two-piece band.
