History

In February 2014, Norwegian Air International received its operating licence and air operator's certificate issued by the Republic of Ireland. All of its flights are operated under its own IBK ICAO code flying under D8 locator, using its own fleet registered to the airline. Its parent Norwegian Air Shuttle, Norwegian Air International and Norwegian Air UK share the same branding under the Norwegian Group. Its registration within Ireland and outside Norway allows the company to take advantage of European Union airline freedoms and agreements.

In February 2017, it has been announced that Norwegian Air International will start transatlantic flights to the United States from the United Kingdom and Ireland on behalf of its parent company using new Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.

Fleet
