Accreditation Status

Northeast Lakeview College was granted candidacy status for accreditation, effective June 16, 2016, by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. Although NLC has yet to obtain full regional accreditation through SACS-COC, NLC students are able to receive federal financial aid (this excludes veterans funding) and nearly all Texas universities accept transfer credits from NLC.

Northeast Lakeview functions as an outreach site of San Antonio College, so that students can attend classes at Northeast Lakeview but enroll at SAC.

Notable Events at NLC

On October 13, 2008, Alan Godin, a librarian at NLC, shot and killed Devin Zimmerman, another librarian, in the library at the Pat Booker campus. Godin was later convicted of first-degree murder.
