The North Longford Flying Column was a unit of the Old IRA in the Irish War of Independence, centred on the village of Ballinalee, where it was led by Sean Mac Eoin.

Membership

Membership was local, with many members also coming from the neighbouring counties of Cavan and Leitrim.

Reynolds, Séan Sexton, Jim Sheeran, Michael Treacy and Ned Tynan.

Engagements

Its most famous engagement was the Battle of Ballinalee, while another of note was the Clonfin ambush.
