Norman E. Snyder is an American entrepreneur and philanthropist. He is a former partner and COO at SoBe and later served as COO at Rheingold Brewing Co.

Education

Snyder graduated in 1983 from the University at Albany with a degree in accounting. He was a member of the international co-ed business fraternity Delta Sigma Pi, Zeta Psi Chapter.

Work

Snyder spent eight years at the accounting and consulting firm Price Waterhouse, including two years in the Caracas, Venezuela office. He worked for five years with National Football League Properties Inc., where he served as controller for the marketing department. In 1995 Snyder joined the South Beach Beverage Company and served as their chief operating officer. Following the sale of SoBe to PepsiCo in 2001 for $370 million he founded a consulting firm, Redyns, which offered financial and operational consultancy to small and medium-sized companies. Snyder later served as chief operating officer at Rheingold Brewing in New York prior to its sale to Drinks Americas in 2005.

Philanthropy

On October 17, 2005 Snyder committed $5 million to the University at Albany's School of Business to establish the "Norman E. Snyder Jr. '83 Endowment Fund". The fund was used for general support of the business school. The donation was at the time the largest gift from an individual in the history of the university .
