Noah Deledda (born August 2, 1977 in Ann Arbor, MI) is an American artist. He spent most of his childhood in the Tampa/St. Petersburg area of Florida. Despite the absence of a formal art education, Noah Deledda gained notoriety in the 1990s, first as a graffiti artist, and then as a graphic design artist. Deledda briefly moved to Tallahassee, Florida in the late 1990s. It was in Tallahassee that Deledda began focusing on painting. As of 2007, Deledda is painting in oil, working on a project called "Dacode" with photographer Lance Dalgart of Los Angeles, and producing his own line of office accessories.

Career

Deledda's artistic output has spanned a multitude of disciplines, including graphic design, oil painting, graffiti, sculpture and multimedia, fashion, screenprinting, and product design.

Artistic activities

Numerous oil paintings. Oil period began in 2000. Fairly consistent output through 2007, in terms of volume.

Deledda's graphic design career has focused largely on products and promotion for the extreme sports market, and punk/rock/metal/hip-hop music. He has designed logos, T-shirts, skateboard graphics and decal packages for the skateboard and motocross industry, frequently for Westside Skateshop and Enjoy Manufacturing. He has also done label design for products ranging from hot sauce to beer bottles.

Deledda designs for Iggy Pop and the Stooges drummer Scott Asheton Rock Action imprint, as well as designing posters for The Stooges 2005 European tour. He designed the album cover for the Lucid Druid release "Anecdota".

Deledda is a regular contributor to Reax Magazine.

Family

The Deleddas are an artistically inclined family; His father Gianfranco was a late 1960s Detroit-area musician who played in Commander Cody and the Lost Planet Airmen, and his brother Sebastian Deledda, formerly of Alkiir, is currently playing in the band Lucid Druid, and Deledda's great-aunt Grazia Deledda was an early 20th-century Nobel Prize winning writer. His mother, Judy Mangle, also worked in the graphics design industry, but really is a knitter. His twin brothers, Nathan and Max, are Chiropractors in Florida.

Influences

Deledda spent much of his formative years associating with a group of artists and skateboarders in the Tampa/St. Petersburg area of Florida. He has collaborated with local Florida artists such as Joel Cook, Jay Giroux, Hippie, Kevin Casey, Louis Mulvihill, and Kris Dorris Of Ghettorags Detroit. His longtime association with the former professional skateboarder John Montesi led directly to his work for Westside.
