No. 662 Squadron AAC is a squadron of the British Army's Army Air Corps (AAC).

History

No. 662 Squadron was part of Royal Air Force as No. 662 Squadron RAF, first an Air Observation Post Squadron (from 30 Sept 1943 to 15 Dec 1945) later a Royal Auxiliary Air Force Squadron (from 1 May 1949 until 10 March 1957). The Squadron became a part of the 3 Regiment Army Air Corps (in Soest) in 1971, until the draw down of the Regiment at the end of 1992.

Current use

In 2007, Squadron been designated as an Attack Helicopter Squadron due to the centralisation of aircraft types, equipped with the AgustaWestland Apache AH.1 battlefield helicopter under 3 Regiment, Army Air Corps.
