Early life and education
McCance grew up with her mother in Ontario; her father died when she was a child. She received her MA in Counseling Psychology from the University of Toronto and attended undergraduate school at Carleton University, graduating with two BAs. In addition to her degrees, she has a certificate in trauma and recovery from Harvard University. Upon graduating from her masters, she became the youngest licensed psychotherapist in Toronto, opening Nicole McCance Psychology.
Career
McCance is the owner of Nicole McCance Psychology. The company has ten separate counseling locations, for both individual and couples counseling.
Media appearances
McCance has appeared as a guest on Canadian television networks and radio including CP24, CTV News, Global TV, CBC News, and CBC Radio. She is a regular contributor and relationship expert for the Cosmo television show “Love Trap”. She has also served as a relationship advisor for articles in Toronto area newspapers and magazines including Men’s Health and Canadian Living, in addition to providing advice on other health-related and social issues.
Books
McCance is the author of the book 52 Ways to Beat Depression Naturally. The book explores non-medical treatments for depression, such as philosophy, relaxation techniques, nutritional as well as exercise strategies, and sleep therapy.
