Nicole Fender Fisher (born March 27, 1982) is a human rights and political advisor, primarily focusing on health care. Fisher is a Contributor for Forbes Magazine, has spoken at the United Nations, and often appears on news and sports networks. She has also been council to political advisors like Doug Holtz-Eakin, former Director of the Congressional Budget Office. In 2013 Fisher left the public sector to create a private consulting firm focused on health and human rights: HHR Strategies, Inc.

Early life

Fisher was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where her father was a fireman and small business owner. She received a B.A. in psychology and biology from the University of Missouri, her Masters in Public Policy from the University of Chicago, and is currently pursuing a doctorate at the University of North Carolina.

Policy

Fisher has been an advisor on Capitol Hill and North Carolina, Illinois and Louisiana state legislatures. Her legislative writing primarily focuses on health reform, Medicare and Medicaid. At the state and federal level she crafted concussion legislation for youth sports and accused the NFL of altering neuroscience data. In 2012, Fisher was a signatory to an amicus curiae brief submitted to the Supreme Court in support of severability during the National Federation of Independent Business v Kathleen Sebelius, Secretary of Health and Human Services, as it pertained to the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. In 2016 Fisher received critique for an immigration reform brief she released with the MacArthur Foundation on the US health labor sector.

Sports

In 2015, Fisher was named Executive Director of the Global Brain Health Coalition, a nonprofit focused on brain health. To much controversy, in 2015 Fisher started a series of concussion events at NFL gatherings. Each year at the Super Bowl she hosts a brain health event with agent Leigh Steinberg. The event for Super Bowl LI in Texas claims support by the NFLPA, NFLAA and veteran groups including the VA.

Personal life

Fisher currently lives in Washington, D.C..
