Nicolae Filip (March 3, 1926 – 15 May 2009) was born in the village of Sofia, Bălţi to a family of farmers. He was an expert in the field of physics, and contributed significantly to the study of "The spread of ultrashort radio waves." He was elected an honorary member of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova.

  • Since 1997, ND Philippe member of the International Academy of Sciences Graduate School.
  • 2000 Honorary Doctor Jassy Technical University. Gh.Asachi.
  • Since 2001, is an honorary citizen of the city Belts.
