Early life and education

Shields grew up in Twickenham, London, England, and also enjoyed spending the holidays in the countryside on her family farm in Yorkshire. Educated at The Lady Eleanor Holles School she enjoyed sport including dance and rowing, competing at a national level.

Shields has a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Bristol. After university she traveled in Africa from Kenya down to South Africa and climbed Mount Kilimanjaro to raise money for Agape, an orphanage in Durban, South Africa where she also taught for several months

Career

Shields started her first graduate job in the city at UBS. After a year she moved on to become a founding member of a tech start up, Starcount.com. A social media and data analytics business.

In 2012, Shields started presenting and reporting at live tech and science shows, including 'Gadget Show Live', 'International Confex' and 'Intel Solutions Summit'.

Shields went on to present for BBC1’s Escape to the Country in 2013. In 2013, Shields was a reporter for the Willis Resilience Expedition to Antarctica investigating climate change and sustainability. In 2014 Shields started presenting for Goodwood TV at the 72nd Members Meeting and MotorsTV.

In April 2014, it was announce that she is the presenter and pitlane reporter for the new FIA Formula E Championship 2014-2015 season on ITV. The worlds first fully electric racing championship that aims to promote sustainability globally. She is filming with the teams and drivers over the summer, and will report from each of the 10 races alongside commentators Dario Franchitti and Jack Nicholls. The first race started in Beijing on September 13, 2014.
