Pr. Nicholas John Childs FLCM (born 7 October 1961) is a British musician from Wales, and known for his conducting of brass bands.

Early life
He was born in Usk in Monmouthshire, formerly Gwent, on the same day as Simon McCoy the BBC newsreader. He played in a brass band in Tredegar in Blaenau Gwent, formerly in Gwent.
Career
He toured as a player of the euphonium with his brother Robert. When conducting, he has won the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain six times, in 1999, 2001, 2004, 2008, 2009 and 2014. His brother has conducted the National Youth Wind Orchestra of Great Britain. In 2005, as conductor, he won the European Brass Band Championships.
He is an Associate Conductor of the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain which he formed in 2004. There is also similarly a National Children's Brass Band of Great Britain. He works with the Brass Band Heritage Trust.
Teaching
Since May 2014 he has been a Professor at the Royal Northern College of Music at their Philip Jones Centre for Brass, teaching Brass Band Studies.
Personal life
He is married Alison Edmunds in December 1989 in Oldham and they have a daughter (born September 1992). He lives in Denshaw, Saddleworth.
