Newcastle Roller Derby League (NRDL) is a roller derby league based in the city of Newcastle, New South Wales founded in 2009. Their representative team is called the Dockyard Dames while their three local teams are the Harbour Hellcats, the Fort Smashleys and the Bogey Rollers, which was formed at the start of 2013.

By mid-2010, the league had more than 100 skaters.
One skater from the league was selected to skate for Team Australia at the 2011 Roller Derby World Cup.
Fort Smashleys
The Fort Smashley are one of the NRDL In-House teams created in 2011. Fort Smashleys Won their first Season comp in 2013 against the new comers the Bogey Rollers.
The name "Fort Smashleys" is a play on Fort Scratchley, a Fort which is based on the harbor of Newcastle, Australia. This name was chosen for the symbolism that Fort Scratchley has in Newcastle.
Harbour Hellcats
The Harbour Hellcats are one of the NRDL In-House teams created in 2011. Hellcats won the first 4 season of the NRDL In-House comp.
Bogey Rollers
The Bogey Rollers are one of the NRDL In-House teams created in 2013. In there first season they played of against the Fort Smashleys for the NRDL In-House comp trophy.
The Dockyard Dames
The Newcastle Dockyard Dames are the Representative team for NRDL. This team consists of the best of the best of NRDL players.
The dockyard dames have played teams from all around Australia & New Zealand, some of those teams are: Victorian Roller Derby League, Sydney Roller Derby League, Pirate City Rollers, Northern Brisbane Rollers and many more along the way.
The Dockyard dames have finished in 3rd place in the Eastern Region Roller Derby Competition 4 years in a row. In 2010 and 2012 they competed in The Great Southern Slam, which is a nationals type event for Roller Derby which sore over 20 leagues from all around Australia and New Zealand competing against each other. In 2014 the Dockyard Dames will be heading to Adelaide to compete in TGSS again to represent Newcastle.
