The stadium was opened in 1949 to replace Pebble Park. The stadium opening was attended by hundreds of fans, in which Annbank played Auchinleck in the first match, which Annbank won 1-0 thanks to a goal by local boy Tommy Alexander. Annbank's oldest resident, Robert Kerr also known as Auld Rab kicked off to open the new ground.
