Joan Toth, President and CEO of the Network, has been with the group since it was founded in 2001. In 2001 she was named Executive Director and in 2011 she was appointed President and CEO. Toth has been in the Consumer Product Goods (CPG) and retail business for more than 20 years. Prior to joining the Network, Toth launched Go-To-Market Strategies, a retail industry consulting firm, and led print, event and web business development activities for the retail/food industry publications of Bill Communications. Toth previously served as Vice President and Publisher of Convenience Store News and group publisher of the retail and distribution publications of Macfadden Trade Communications.

Other members of the Network include Amy Hahn, Senior Vice President of Marketing for Ahold USA, Lisa Walsh, Senior Vice President of PepsiCo Sales for PepsiCo Inc., and Karen Stuckey of Walmart who chairs the NEW 2020 initiative. NEW Marketing Chair Lisa Walsh has been recently appointed this title in January 2016. Walsh is  a long-time NEW Board member, who has previously served on the organization's executive committee as chair for marketing and communications. At PepsiCo Inc., Walsh is responsible for the integration of Frito-Lay sales and marketing plans and elevating the capabilities and effectiveness of the Customer Management organization. She represents the sales function across various Frito-Lay governance boards and engages with key retail customers to drive mutually winning plans.

Campaign

In 2015, the Network of Executive Women unveiled the “It’s Time” campaign at the Food Marketing Institute (FMI) Midwinter Executive Conference. This campaign urged industry leaders to advance more women leaders in the retail and consumer goods and services industry, and to create "a more flexible, collaborative, inclusive and authentic workplace for everyone."

The “It’s Time” campaign is rolling out four new programs including:

  • The NEW Executive Institute, an intensive 12-month learning course for emerging executives.
  • NEW Career Accelerator workshops to help companies benchmark and improve leadership skills of their high-potential leaders.
  • Two new skills-building webinar series: Innovation You and the Multigenerational Leadership Course.
  • Education

The Network of Executive Women offers scholarships for undergraduates studying courses in the food, retail, and consumer products field.  The Network of Executive Women is dedicated to providing educational opportunities for women in need of financial assistance by awarding annual scholarships. These scholarships are funded through Network sponsored events, member participation and private donations.
