Nerve Engine was an Alternative Metal band from Leeds, UK. The band formed in 1999 in Barnsley, UK before relocating to Leeds in 2001.

Contents

Once in Leeds Nerve Engine self-released 2 albums, the second of which ('Underneath The Sprawl') attracted the attention of Collective Management who went on to release the band's EP 'Red Son Rising' and subsequent single 'One Chance'. Positive reviews of these releases and the band's live shows appeared in Metal Hammer and Rock Sound magazines with the former moved to describe the band as having "riffs that Hetfield himself would be proud of" and being "well on their way to greatness".

To support their releases Nerve Engine undertook 2 UK tours and also played shows with high-profile bands including Breed 77, Panic Cell, AntiProduct, The Butterfly Effect, Twin Zero and Engine Down.

Nerve Engine split up in 2007 citing their frustration at lack of support from the music business.
