The Central Universal Science Library Nekrasov is founded in 1919. The Library receives its name after Nikolay Nekrasov. It is a public library service for the people of Moscow with over 2 million books in more than 100 languages. The center is also founded to support all other libraries in Moscow. The first director was Mr. Alexander Pokrovsky (1879-1942). He was director from 1919 until 1938. The current director is Ms. Maria Privalova. In 2002 the Library moved to their present address on Pushkinskaya street.
