The National Union of Somali Journalists (NUSOJ) is a media organization based in Mogadishu, Somalia. It was formed in 2002, in response to an attempt by the short-lived Transitional National Government to re-establish regulation over the local media industry. The agency also organizes events as part of the broader national development initiatives, including a 2014 Media Peace campaign in the capital, which was held in conjunction with the Somali Media Independent Houses Association (SIMHA) to mark International Peace Day. NUSOJ has its headquarters in the Waberi District.
National Union of Somali Journalists (NUSOJ) is currently led by Mohamed Ibrahim Moalimuu the Secretary General of the Union and Mahir Jama the President of NUSOJ. They were elected in Mogadishu on 17 May 2016. Both Moalimuu and Mahir are respected journalists in Somalia.
