National Association Medical Staff Services (NAMSS), established in 1971, has over 6,000 members nationwide and is headquartered in Washington, D.C. The Association seeks to provide educational opportunities for its members, as well as to foster public awareness of the role of medical staff professionals in the provision of safe, effective healthcare. NAMSS followed in the footsteps of the California Association of Medical Staff Services or CAMSS which was established in 1971. Most US States have active NAMSS Affiliate Organizations.
