The Naters Brass Quintet (NBQ) was a small group formed in 1990, and is known for its modern entertainment music. In 1992, the NBQ won the vice-champion title at the Swiss Ensemble and Soloist Competition (SSEW) in Interlaken, where it also played at the Gala concert. The group cooperated with lesser-known musicians such as Anselmo Loretan, Eduard Zurwerra and Peter Warlen. Stefan Imboden acted as their trainer for many years, which led to the success of the NBQ.
