Athlete In Focus: Taekwondo Phenom Natalie Hershberger
Natalie Hershberger (born February 22, 2004) is an American taekwondo athlete and author of Kick it Fit with Natalie and "Tough Girls Finish First". Beginning in 2016, Natalie's regular column featured in Taekwondo Times Magazine "Kickchat with Nat" will offer younger martial artists an inside look at elite-level Taekwondo training.
Natalie began training in taekwondo at the age of five. She is a current AAU National Team Member and USA Taekwondo National Team Member with the goal of representing the United States in the 2020 and 2024 Summer Olympics. Hershberger has earned two AAU Junior Olympic Games titles (2012 and 2013) as well as six national championship titles (AAU and USAT). Acting as an ambassador of sport taekwondo, Hershberger hopes to bring her passion to the mainstream sports arena in America. Hershberger was named a 2015 Sports Illustrated SportsKid of the Year finalist (SKOTY), making her the first martial artist ever to be recognized as a finalist.
