Demographics

As of 2011 census, had a population of 2,110. The total population constitute, 1,083 males and 1,027 females —a sex ratio of 948 females per 1000 males. 238 children are in the age group of 0–6 years, of which 119 are boys and 119 are girls —a ratio of 1000 per 1000. The average literacy rate stands at 53.37% with 999 literates, significantly higher than the state average of 67.41%.

Features

The village has a population about 2000. The main source of income is agriculture. In summer, many of the houses are filled with the fragrance of Jasmine flower. The production is over 2000 kg per day during the peak period.

There is an Upper primary school (up to 7th standard), which is the only school in the village. For High school education, children go either Cholemarri (1.5 km away) or Roddam (5 km away).

Most of the youth are working at Bangalore (Bengaluru), as it is the nearest city (though in Karnataka State).

Nalluru is connected by road to nearest business town Hindupur. In 2010 state government have successfully connected Cholemarri and Nalluru villages with a Tar road, with the main road that connects Penukonda and Madakasira.

The nearest railway station is at Penukonda, 25 km away.
