History
In 2001, a temporary radio station broadcast in the canton of Beauvoir-sur-Mer. The project soon appealed to the North-West Vendée local council and, thanks to the Conseil supérieur de l'audiovisuel (France) (CSA) that gives the département three frequencies, the association NOV Fm was created in December 2003.
Three communautés de communes (joint local authority group): Beauvoir-sur-Mer, Challans and Saint-Jean-de-Monts subsidize the radio station to promote its development. NOV Fm broadcast its first programmes in 2004 with Arnaud Guittot and Hervé Racois at the helm, along with a few correspondents who cover local news.
In 2007, Arnaud Guittot became Nov Fm controller. In 2008, journalist Emmanuelle Mézerette joined him and took charge of the news programmes and changed its schedule. In 2009, new host and programme manager Thierry David completed the team. Finally, Palluau and Noirmoutier followed suit in 2011 as the communautés de communes that subsidize Nov Fm.
