N.P Sajeesh (born 7 December 1976) is a writer, journalist and film critic. He was born at Kalpathur in Kozhikode district of Kerala State, India. He has written several books on literature and cinema.
He won Kerala State Film Award for the best book in cinema in 2007 for the book Salabhachirakukal Kozhiyunna Charithra Sishirathil.
He won Kerala State Film Award for the best article on cinema in 2006 for the article titled Gujarathinu sesham Malayala cinema Musliminodu parayunnathu published in Mathrubhumi Weekly.
In 2008 he served on the Kerala State Film Award Jury headed by Vijayakrishnan.
He got ALA (Amateur Little Cinema) Award for the best translated work on cinema for the book titled Sahasrabdathinte Cinemakal published by Frames Film Society.
He has to his credit three collections of essays on cinema. Published by D.C Books, Drisya Desangalude Bhoopadam,is an introductory tool that provides deep insights into some of the most exciting and diverse movements and experiments in contemporary world cinema. Thiramalayalathinte Avasthantharangal, published by Keralabhasha Institute, is a collection of essays on different genres of Malayalam Cinema.
The state award winning book Salabhachirakukal Kozhiyunna Charithra Sishirathil, is published by H&C Publishers. He has compiled and edited Purushaveshangal, a collection of essays on Mammootty and Mohanlal. It seeks to analyse the socio-political implications of stardom in Malayalam cinema.
Veettilekkulla Kathukal offers a deep look at the unseen side of Sylvia Plath, American writer whose best-known poems are noted for their personal imagery and intense focus. It is an attempt to probe the troubled mind of the celebrated writer.
