My Weird School

Overview

The main character in the series is Arlo Jervis, better known as "A.J.", a boy who dislikes school. He attends Ella Mentry School, together with his archenemy, Andrea Young, and his friends Alexia, Ryan, Michael, and Neil.

The books in this series will come out from 2015 to 2018. These books involve Mr. Granite leaving Ella Mentry and a new teacher named Mr. Cooper appearing. Mr. Cooper believes he is a superhero, however, he is not.

Characters

Arlo Jervis (A.J)

A.J. is the main protagonist in all current series and the stories are told from his point-of-view. The character is friends with Ryan, Michael, Neil, and Alexia and his opening line in most of the books is: "My name is A.J. and I hate school." A.J. dislikes girls, especially Andrea. A.J. calls Andrea a "little miss know it all". Andrea secretly has a crush on A.J., but A.J. is hiding something doesn't show it. But A.J. actually loves Andrea, which Ryan and Michael think he does too. Some of A.J.'s favorite things are football, dirt bikes, and skateboarding.

Ryan Dole

This character is an African American boy who is one of A.J.'s best friends. He is known for eating things that nobody else will eat, such as school lunch, vegetables, and seat cushions (in Ms. Kormel is Not Normal!, he sprayed a bus seat cushion with ketchup and ate it). His mother is also the PTA president.

Michael Robinson

Michael is also one of A.J.'s best friends. He is notorious for never tying his shoes and he is portrayed as wearing glasses.

Neil Crouch aka nude kid

Neil is a character mistakenly perceived as a "nude kid". He made his first appearance in Mrs. Kormel Is Not Normal!, in which the school bus sustains a flat tire during a detour to pick up the "nude kid", who turns out to actually be the "new kid". His appearance is similar to Michael, as they both wear glasses and have the same type of hair. The character owns a pet ferret, called “Mr. Wiggles”, and the ferret is the president of Ella Mentry School in Mr. Macky Is Wacky! and the class president of third grade in Mayor Hubble is in Trouble!.

Alexia Juarez

Introduced in the third series, in Miss Child Has Gone Wild!, this female character is portrayed as a tomboy—Alexia first appears riding a skateboard into Mr. Granite's class and she always wears a cap. According to A.J., the main character, Alexia is "pretty cool", even though she is a girl. Alexia also likes and dislikes what A.J. likes and dislikes; for example, she hates school, but likes eating pizza and skateboarding. She sits at the boys' table during lunch. In Mr. Harrison Is Embarrassin' she shows affection to A.J by asking him to hold her hand.

Andrea Young

She is one of two primary antagonists, usually corrects A.J. and the other boys when they make mistakes while talking, and occasionally makes the statement, "Boys are dumbheads." However, the character is depicted displaying affection towards the protagonist, as she writes, "I'll miss you, Arlo", in Mrs. Dole is out of Control! and asks A.J. to hold her hand in Mr. Harrison is Embarrasin'! In "Mayor Hubble is in Trouble!" Andrea wrote "I LIKE A.J.!" in her diary. Also, in Ms. Holly is too Jolly!, she kisses A.J when they unknowingly happen to meet together under mistletoe. In Miss Klute is a Hoot, Andrea calls A.J a "genius" which to Ryan and Michael means she likes A.J. Andrea is portrayed as a student who is eager to please her teachers and she always raises her hand in response to any questions that are asked during classes. Her mother is the PTA vice-president of Ella Mentry School.

Emily Pucket

The character of Emily is Andrea Young's accomplice - she is the second antagonist after Andrea. Emily is a crybaby. Emily agrees with everything that Andrea says, causing A.J. to think that the two are the most annoying students he has ever met. Emily is sometimes called a "crybaby", as she always cries and "runs out of the room" when A.J. says something mean to her. Emily has appeared in every book to date except Mr. Sunny Is Funny!

Mrs. Daisy

First called "Miss Daisy", this character was A.J.'s 2nd grade teacher. She first appeared in Miss Daisy is Crazy, a book in which she is the main character. Mrs. Daisy ironically purports to hate school and to lack knowledge in order to motivate her students to learn. One of the character’s prominent traits is her love of bonbons. She is married to Mr. Macky in Mr. Louie Is Screwy and is portrayed as giving birth to a child, named "Jackie Macky", during the season of summer in that book. Miss Daisy is set to appear in the new book "Miss Daisy Is Still Crazy"

Mr. Granite

The character of Mr. Granite is not only A.J.'s 3rd grade teacher, but he is from an alien planet known as Etinarg (Granite spelled backward). Mr. Granite is from another planet—he tried to return, but his spaceship crashed. Mr. Granite is also a long-distance swimmer.

Mr. Klutz

The character of Mr. Klutz is the principal of Ella Mentry School. Mr. Klutz is constantly portrayed undertaking strange acts, like kissing a pig, after he instructs the school's students to concurrently embark on a similarly unusual activity. In Dr. Carbles Is Losing His Marbles, the character was dismissed, but returned at a later stage in the book.

Ella Mentry

This character is the woman whom Ella Mentry School is named after. She occasionally visits the school in the three series in the books, Ms. LaGrange is strange!, Mr. Harrison is Embarrassin' and Ms. Cuddy is nutty and she visits always coincide with a mishap at the school.

Milton Carbles

This character is the head of the Board of Education and sometimes visits Ella Mentry School, but his visits, like those of the character Mrs. Ella Mentry, always coincide with a mishap at the school. In Dr. Carbles Is Losing His Marbles, the character tires of the consistent problems that arise during his visits and fires Mr. Klutz; however, Mr. Klutz returns to his position as the school's principal and Dr. Carbles is, instead, dismissed by the superintendent.

Mayor Hubble

This character is the former mayor of the town portrayed in the series. In Mr. Burke is Berserk!, gold is discovered in the playground. Mayor Hubble attempts to steal it but is caught and arrested. He got time off and secretly cheated in the election, hoping to be re-elected for mayor, but is caught. Officer Spence, the security guard, arrests him for "trespassing, stealing yard signs, and contributing to the delinquency of minors". It is also noted that a tree fell on his house (not to mention his bathroom) while he was on the toilet.

Officer Spence

The crazy security guard at Ella Mentry School. In Officer Spence Makes No Sense!, he goes around the school arresting all the teachers and faculty for "being a drug addict dealer" (Mrs. Cooney, the nurse, has aspirin bottles in her cabinet), "saying 'butt' in a children's book" (which is not illegal, and the word was actually 'but'), and "being an illegal alien" (because the teacher, Mr. Granite, supposedly comes from a different planet).

Mrs. Cooney

The nurse at Ella Mentry School. A.J has a crush on her. In Mrs. Cooney is Loony!, she is found as a spy, but returns in other stories.

Mrs. Roopy

The librarian at Ella Mentry School. She always pretends that she's someone else, like Neil Armstrong and George Washington. However, she always denies her true person when questioned about it.Mr.HyndeHe was their music teacher for a while and A.J. thinks he's cool but Andrea thinks he isn't. He wanted to make A.J and Andrea kiss in Mr.Hynde is out of his mind

Ms. LaGrange

This character becomes the lunch lady at Ella Mentry School, when the old one quits. She is the first person, who makes A.J eat a vegetable! Ms. LaGrange is from France, and she talks weirdly. She says "Bonjour" all the time! Ms. LaGrange thinks the vomitoriom- that's what kids call the cafeteria, is a restaurant!

Mrs. Laney

She is the speach teacher at Ella Mentry School.

Dr. Brad

He is the school counselor. He talk funny like "Zees ees not funny". Dr. Brad dresses up like a mad scientist! In Dr. Brad has gone mad, he to see if A.J is really a genius or not. In Mr. Jack is a maniac, he tries to tell everybody to talk it out, instead of fighting, but, eventually ends up thrown by Mr. Jack, and a bear.

Mrs. Patty

Mrs. Patty, is the school secretary in Ella Mentry School. In Mrs. Patty is batty, A.J his friends find out, that Mrs. Patty's house is haunted! She has spooky decorations everywhere, and all the time! There's a guy hiding in the basement in a treasure chest, stealing candy from children!

Miss Klute

She is the therapy dog at Ella Mentry School. In Miss Klute is a hoot, she runs away chasing a squirrel, and then comes back, though sick, since she ate chocolate.
