Facts

  • Released on CD and a Limited Edition 7” of 1000 copies
  • The single features the original version of “My Sweet Rose”, which was later re-recorded for inclusion on the band's debut album, "Hymns For Strange Children". The original version of the song was also included on the band's best of release, "Now I'm Nailed To Your Bedroom Wall, I've Only Got Myself To Blame".
  • "My Sweet Rose" was the band's first recording with their new drummer, Robin Guy, after the departure of Mike Rowe and Cliff Harris. However, Mike Rowe and Cliff Harris appear on the single's B-Sides as these tracks were taken from the band's unreleased WEA album. These songs also appear on the band's "Sweet Shop" compilation CD. Live recordings of these tracks can also be found on the live album, "Stampax".
  • A demo of "My Sweet Rose" recorded by the WEA-era line up of the band can be found on the band's "Sweet Shop" compilation.
  • The 7" only features the first two songs from the CD-s: "My Sweet Rose" and "Je Suis Maisee".
  • The 7" features "I Go Places… Then I Tell My Wife" etched onto the run-out groove of Side A and "You Should Pattern Your Life After Me" on Side B.
