My First School (Chinese: 快乐第一班) is a Singaporean Chinese drama series which is telecast on Singapore's free-to-air channel, Mediacorp Channel 8. The series began production on November 2015 and made its debut on 12 April 2016 and ended on 31 May 2016. This sitcom consists of 8 episodes, and was screened on every Tuesday night at 8:00 pm. It's one of the main casts is Young Talent Award Winner of 2015 & 2016, Damien Teo. The series is jointly presented by NTUC First Campus and the Lien Foundation.

Plot

Xu Leqing (Julie Tan), aged 20, graduated from Polytechnic with a Diploma of Early Childhood. She comes from a well-off family who is always jovial, cheerful and helpful. Her smiles and optimism brought joy to the people around and no one could tell that she had gone through a painful experience of losing her father at 11 years old. Leqing is very close to her father and when her father died of cancer, she went through a painful period of mourning. Xu Zhengbo (Chew Chor Meng) is a good father. He believes that parents play an important role in guiding and leading in the upbringing of their children. Hence, he believes that pre-school education has a great impact which can influence a child’s life. When Leqing was 4 years old, he quit his job as a computer programmer to be a full-time father to take care of Leqing. Leqing’s mother, Lin Yixin (Xiang Yun) continued to work so that Zhengbo can focus in taking care of Leqing. With the love, tender and care given to Leqing, she grows up as a happy and confident girl.

  • In terms of filming schedule, Xiang Yun and Julie Tan would go on to play mother and daughter in Peace & Prosperity.
  • This is Damien Teo's fourth drama series after The Journey: Tumultuous Times, You Can Be An Angel Too and The Dream Makers II
  • This drama series takes its name from My First Skool, a preschool chain owned by NTUC (which sponsors this show) as one of its social enterprises.
