Mursley United FC was founded in 1947, and consisted of a senior side that played in the local Saturday leagues. The club won it’s first piece of silverware, in the 1963-64 season, by winning the North Bucks & District Football League Division Two.
After missing the 1977–78 season, the club was reformed as The Green Man FC and started playing local Sunday football.
The start of the 1993–94 season, saw the club re-form back to our natural name of Mursley United, and Saturday football back in the North Bucks and District League. The next season saw the senior team win the Intermediate Division.
The Green Army joined the South Midlands Football League Division One, in 1996, before the league merged with the Spartan League. The merger placed Mursley into the Spartan South Midlands Football League Division 1 North.
The 2001–02 campaign became the club’s most successful season, as United became Spartan South Midlands Football League Division Two champions, now re-named after regionalisation of the league ceased. However, despite the championship win, The Green Army were not promoted due to ground grading requirements at Station Road.
Mursley United FC has since reached the Division Two Cup Final on two occasions, but finished Runners-Up.
In 2013-2014, Alex Gallon was announced as chairman of the football club and began building the footsteps to cement youth football in Mursley. Two season’s later the U-16’s and U-18’s were created by funding from the FA’s Grow The Game programme.
This season has seen the introduction of key board members Simon Jay, Craig Turnbull and Justin Daley, plus the promotion of U-16’s manager, Alan Baldwin to the U-18’s hotseat. The results have seen the first team reach the semi-final’s of the Spartan South Midlands League Division Two Cup, and the U-18’s reach the Berks & Bucks FA Youth Cup, at Aylesbury FC.
