Murad Ahmed (Bengali: মুরাদ আহমেদ) is an English journalist who works as a European technology correspondent for the Financial Times. He writes about innovations with the internet, social media and consumer electronics.

Early life

Ahmed was studying law at the University of Cambridge when he got onto the student newspaper. He started writing film reviews and then edited a new magazine from anew. For the newspaper and magazine, he interviewed Sidney Blumenthal and Mark Thompson. In 2005, he graduated in LLB Law from the University of Cambridge. In 2006, he completed an MA with distinction in Journalism from the Goldsmiths University.

Career

In September 2008, at the end of his traineeship, Ahmed started his job as a Technology Reporter for The Times. He writes about innovations with the internet, social media and consumer electronics. Since July 2014, he has worked as a European technology correspondent for the Financial Times.

Awards and nominations

In March 2014, Ahmed was nominated for Digital Writer of the Year at the Online Media Awards.
