Munirabad, which is also called as Huligi, is a village in the Koppal district in the Indian state of Karnataka.

Demographics

As of the 2001 Indian census, Munirabad had a population of 8,113. Males constituted 51% of the population and females 49%. Munirabad had an average literacy rate of 75%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy was 82%, and female literacy was 68%. In Munirabad, 12% of the population was under 6 years old.

Munirabad is mostly an industrial area, albeit full of greenery and very peaceful. The Tungabhadra River with its huge dam is situated nearby. The Tungabhadra Dam is well known for its Park and Independence day celebrations. One can also go to Hampi ,near Hospet, which was built by Raja Krishna Dev Raya..

There are two banks to Tungabhadra Dam: 1) TB Dam 2) Munirabad Dam. Munirabad Dam is a project area popular for Japan Garden, Pampavana, High-level Canal, Low-level Canal, School, Hospital, Indrabhavan, offices of different departments like KPTCl, PWD, Irrigation department, Horticulture department, Guest houses, Dhabas around Area, Vishweshraya hall.

Munirabad comes besides National Highway 67 (NH 67, previously National Highway 63), on way to Hospet - Koppal. Munirabad has one Key Power generating station from KPTCL called Powerhouse.

Some places of worship include Ganesha Temple, Banni Mahankali Temple, Mosque, Church, and the Hanuman Temple.

Some ways to reach Munirabad are: 1) Bus from Hospet (8 km) or Koppal (20 km), 2) Train - Get down at Hospet or Munirabad RS and take the bus service.
