Mundhir Qabbānī (Arabic: منذر القباني‎‎) (born 10 November 1970), also known as Mundhir al-Qabbānī and Monther Alkabbani, is a Saudi writer, novelist, and surgeon.

Early life and career

Mundhir Qabbānī was born to a Saudi family from Al Madinah Almenawarah (west of Saudi Arabia). He graduated from medical school in 1994 from King Saud University, and pursued his surgical training in Canada where he finished his General Surgical Residency at the University of Toronto in 2001 and went further to train in Hepatobiliary& Pancreatic Surgery at the University of British Columbia from 2001 till 2003. In 2006 he published his first novel in Arabic The Shadow of Government. This was followed by his second novel, Return of the Absentee, in 2008. In 2012 he published his third novel, part one of the Knights and Priests trilogy. Part two came out August 2014.
