Mugaraasi (Luck of Face) is a 1966 Tamil language drama film directed by M. A. Thirumugam. The film features M. G. Ramachandran and Gemini Ganesan in lead roles. The film, produced by "Sandow" M.M.A.Chinnappa Devar under his Devar Films, had musical score by K. V. Mahadevan. The film ran for 100 days.

Plot

Somewhere in the Tamil capital...

Because she refused to cooperate, Mangalam, a fair mother pays him of its life.

She is meanly stabbed by Duraiswamy (M. N. Nambiar), a notable who put himself to spirit away the colossal fortune of his deceased brother.

He acts so meanly in front of small Sômu, (Mangalam 's elder son), under the eyes of the terrorized child who memorizes nevertheless the face of Duraiswamy.

15 years pass by... Adult, now, Sômu (Gemini Ganesan) living being only by a thing: take revenge !

He settled as purpose to find the murderer and to kill him himself of the hands!

His young brother Râmu (MGR), a police officer of a formidable efficiency, a big integrity and by which its reputation precedes him, is moved in the same region as Duraiswamy !

Râmu fell in love recently with beautiful Jaya (Jayalalitha).

It turns out that she one of the two girls of Duraiswamy (the criminal whom looks for desperately for years, Sômu !).

Râmu tried vainly to tear away from his older brother Sômu, the truth on the identity of the murderer of their mother.

It is there that diverges their opinion on the justice.

Sômu wants the death whereas Râmu demands a judgment(sentence) in front of a court for the murderer of their mother !

    It is the great Chinnappa Devar who manages of the exploit to gather on the same poster "Puraitchy Thalaivar" and "Kadhal Mannan" for the first one of their career, in this tenth adventure of MGR under the banner of Devar Films. It was the only film where Ramachandran and Ganesan acted together.

    The little history about a car, the Fiat 1100 model 1961, registered MSX 5176 :

    This young 4 wheels was used in the previous MGR-Devar Films, in this case KANNI THAAI, 1965.

    Towards the end of this Tamil road-movie, in the steering wheel of the same car, is the actor S.A.Asogan, accompanied with the actress K.R.Vidjaya when they knock down inadvertently Râni, the character played by Baby Shakila.

    In MUGARAASI, MGR drives it at opening of the movie, by whistling the air "Unnai Arinthaal..." of other one of his Devar Films, that is VETTAIKAARAN, 1964.

    FLIC OU VOYOU is a 1979 French crime and action film directed by Georges Lautner, with the actor Jean-Paul Belmondo.

    This detective movie resumes the same "entrance" of the hero to the movie. Indeed, the representative of the order is played up at first by good-for-nothings, is robbed to get back better his affairs, after is administered to them a monumental correction.

    In the previous MGR-Devar Films, KANNI THAAI, the actress P. K. Saraswathi makes here a small role.
