John Femi Obanewo (born 17 May 1988) better known by his stage name Mrgrama, is a Nigerian Afro hip-hop artist, singer and songwriter with family roots in Ayede Bunu in Kabba bunu local government area in kogi state, Nigeria. He started his musical career when he first released hi single "Mio Shaye Alaye" and he has been doing underground collaborations with artists such as Zeeword, Drama, Lace and Flexzy and Olumix. He is presently signed to his own record label May17Nation which he launched in 2015 under which he released his latest hit track Somo Somo.

Early life and education

Mrgrama was born on 17 May 1988, to Mr. and Mrs. Obanewo. He grew up in Ayede Bunu in Kabba bunu local government area in Kogi State, Nigeria where he attended Local Government Secondary School Ayede bunu Kogi State. He attended Kogi State Polytechnic in year 2004, where he studied Accounting then later dropped out in year 2006, and later, relocated to Ikorodu, Lagos State. Mrgrama started his performing arts career as a street jam and carnical artist.

Mrgrama started his performing arts career as a street jam and carnical artist. Mrgrama has cited 2face idibia, King Sunny Ade, Ebenezer Obe, Sir Shina Peter, Miley Cyrus as his key musical influences.

He Moved to Lagos in the year 2006 and reside at Ikorodu Benson where he started his music career in the year 2007. He recorded his first single Mio Shaye Alaye produced by Late Music producer Zeeword and featuring him also in year 2010. In the year 2011, he recorded another track Number One featuring Drama and produced by the same late producer Zeeword. Later in the year 2012, he released another track title Somo Somo Produce by young Dee.

Mrgrama has also worked with some artist like Drama, Lace, Late Zeeword and Flexzy, Music Producer Antras, Olumix, Zeelot, Wave, Young Dee, Lichy.

Mrgrama now owns his Record label "May17Nation" and his studio at Ikorodu, Lagos State, in which he plan to bring out the real music of Africa to outer part of the world.
