Mount Miguel High School is a public, comprehensive high school located in Spring Valley, California and serves over 1,400 students in grades nine through twelve. Opened in 1957, Mount Miguel is the fourth of twelve high schools constructed in the Grossmont Union High School District. MMHS is the home of the Matadors, and the school colors are red and black.

Matador Early College (MEC)

Students in the MEC enroll in UC/CSU transferable college courses at Grossmont College or Cuyamaca College. They experience a college atmosphere, and are oriented to the process involved in enrolling in college, choosing classes, and completing college coursework.

    Students investigate topics such as sustainability, mechatronics, forces, structures, aerodynamics, digital electronics and circuit design, manufacturing, and the environment, which gives them an opportunity to learn about different engineering disciplines before beginning post-secondary education or careers.

    The Education pathway provides students with the academic and technical preparation to pursue high-skill, high-demand careers in the field of education. The Education pathway provides students with the skills and knowledge they need to pursue careers working with children and emphasizes the preparation of students to become teachers. Students gain knowledge and skills within this sequential, standards-based pathway program that integrates hands-on projects, work-based instruction, and leadership development. The Education pathway is designed to prepare students for postsecondary education and entry to a career.
