Mount Miguel High School is a public, comprehensive high school located in Spring Valley, California and serves over 1,400 students in grades nine through twelve. Opened in 1957, Mount Miguel is the fourth of twelve high schools constructed in the Grossmont Union High School District. MMHS is the home of the Matadors, and the school colors are red and black.

Matador Early College (MEC)
Students in the MEC enroll in UC/CSU transferable college courses at Grossmont College or Cuyamaca College. They experience a college atmosphere, and are oriented to the process involved in enrolling in college, choosing classes, and completing college coursework.

AVID is a college prep elective course designed to ensure that students are meeting all A-G requirements and are college-ready by the end of their senior year.

The MBA is a four year program that creates collaborative, competent, college and career ready students who will become the business leaders of the future.
Matador Art and Design
The Matador Art and Design (MAD) pathway provides students with opportunities to learn skills including photography, illustration, web design, video production.
Academy of Medical and Health Sciences
In this health pathway, students interested in the medical field take courses with a medical twist. This lab-centered curriculum is designed to prepare students to successfully complete college programs and become our future health and medical professionals.
Engineering and Design Pathway
In this pathway, students engage in open-ended problem solving, learn and apply the engineering design process, and use the same industry-leading technology and software as are used in the world’s top companies.
Students investigate topics such as sustainability, mechatronics, forces, structures, aerodynamics, digital electronics and circuit design, manufacturing, and the environment, which gives them an opportunity to learn about different engineering disciplines before beginning post-secondary education or careers.
Teaching and Learning
The Education pathway provides students with the academic and technical preparation to pursue high-skill, high-demand careers in the field of education. The Education pathway provides students with the skills and knowledge they need to pursue careers working with children and emphasizes the preparation of students to become teachers. Students gain knowledge and skills within this sequential, standards-based pathway program that integrates hands-on projects, work-based instruction, and leadership development. The Education pathway is designed to prepare students for postsecondary education and entry to a career.
Matador Tutorial Center (MTC)
The MTC is staffed both before and after school with teachers to help students in all academic areas. There is additional help available on Saturdays in the Saturday Scholars program.
Academic Clubs
In addition to the Matador Tutorial Center, there are a variety of after school activities with an academic focus.

Athletics
Mount Miguel's athletic teams, the Matadors, compete in the North League of the Grossmont Conference and the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) - San Diego Section.
The school fields teams in the following sports: baseball, boys and girls basketball, boys and girls cross country, cheerleading, football, boys and girls golf, gymnastics, boys and girls soccer, softball, boys and girls swimming & diving, boys and girls tennis, boys and girls track & field, boys and girls volleyball, boys and girls water polo, and wrestling.
