Mount Madonna Institute is a non-profit college specializing in the field of Yoga, Ayurvedic medicine, massage and community studies. The Institute is hosted by the Mount Madonna Center in Watsonville, Santa Cruz County, California. It is inspired by Baba Hari Dass.

Ayurveda School

The Ayurveda school is modeled on the Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery curriculum in India. The college offers three types of programs leading to either an Ayurvedic Lifestyle Counselor diploma, an Ayurvedic Practitioner certificate or a Master of Arts in Ayurveda. The college offers training in herbal medicine making, Ayurvedic cooking, Ayurvedic bodywork, Yoga, and clinical internships. Notable faculty include Vasant Lad, John Douillard and Sarita Shrestha.

Yoga School

The College of Yoga at Mount Madonna Institute offers different Yoga programs and intensives including 200 and 500 hour teacher training. The school covers topics of yoga theory, philosophy and practice, with an emphasis on traditional Ashtanga.

State and international recognition

The Ayurveda college exceeds the educational guidelines of the National Ayurvedic Medical Association (NAMA) and the California Association of Ayurvedic Medicine (CAAM). The Yoga school is registered with The National Yoga Registry and Yoga Alliance.
