Mooshan Mubarik (/muːʃan mʊbɑːrɪk/) is a Maldivian singer-songwriter. Commonly known as “Mummu” among his friends was one of the ordinary musicians who rose to prominence after he began his solo career in the year 2010. His interests for music at a very young age guided him to take a huge step of performing with his fellow musicians at highly ranked resorts in the Maldives during his school years. Ever since then he has made simultaneous appearance during his performances with a number of locally known popular artists in the Maldives. He is a self-taught vocalist and rhythm guitarist who pushes himself to reach great heights of his capabilities to maximize the opportunity to succeed.

Early career

He has been trying to work his way into the musical industry and has accomplished countless achievements. Mooshan was honored with the privilege of performing one of his most cherished originals ‘’Rannamaari” – gracing Maldivian music in the 3rd Annual ABU festival at the Sands Theatre in Macau. He also received a lot of critical praise for representing his nation at a global event with 12 other countries. He was also given the pleasure of performing 3 nights in a row to his royal highness Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin of Malaysia and the respected guests.

Furthermore, Mooshan’s outstanding performances at the resorts and public events such as temptation island event, E-sa live in concert 2012, Mr.MNDF 2011 and one nation rajje tour fuvahmulah was presented with a great opportunity to perform his debut international performance at the sounds of Maldives event at Colombo 2012.

After the release of the public hit Reethikan, the video release made it even more spectacular. The video shows Mooshan waking up in a normal day, following his normal routines. But that day, on the bus he meets this beautiful girl (Suzan) and falls in love at first sight. The video was released on September 1, 2015 on YouTube. It has received many public appraisals for the iconic video and song. The YouTube video has received over 151k hits as of September 2016.

Mooshan performed at Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon’s wedding vow renewal at one and only rah sandbank along with Unoosha which turned out to be a great success since it was extremely appreciated by the couple.

In the year 2009, Mooshan had also performed in a private in-villa for a well known model by the name Naomi Campbell and her beloved husband.
