Moody McCarthy (born Matthew Patrick McCarthy) is an American stand-up comedian who has made multiple network TV appearances. McCarthy was raised in Syracuse, New York, the 6th of 7 children, and graduated from Corcoran High School in 1984, before attending New York University.

Moody began his comedy career in Syracuse in 1992 and from 1994-95 covered sports on WYYY's ("Y94FM") morning show. He is still a regular guest on WTKW ("TK99") with "Gomez & Dave in the Morning".

McCarthy has made appearances on The David Letterman Show on July 12, 2012 and September 5, 2014. His first network appearance was on the re-vamped Star Search in 2003. Moody also appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in 2004, and was a semi-finalist on Last Comic Standing in 2006. In 2014 he advanced to the 2nd round of America's Got Talent but was not shown performing in the telecast.

His debut CD, "The Night it Went Well", has received play on satellite radio.

On November 4, 2012, McCarthy married Molly Mandell. They currently live in New York City.
