Montgomery Independent School District is a public school district based in Montgomery, Texas (USA).

In 2009, the school district was rated "academically acceptable" by the Texas Education Agency.

As of 2015 the district is developing its new high school which will be the second high school in the district. The new high school is named Lake Creek High School. Lake Creek High School is named after the Lake Creek Settlement.

2011-2012 school year, there are 6,892 students in the 8 campuses in the school district that stretches far beyond the Montgomery city limits, to almost all the way around Lake Conroe, with part of the east coast of the lake in Willis and Conroe districts. Average SAT scores is 1505; average ACT score is 22.8, and only 0.2% dropout rate. Of the 442 teaching staff, 95 have advanced degrees; the average years of teaching experience for teachers is 14.27 years.

Montgomery ISD Police serve the district, helping with traffic assistance, school emergencies and other issues. In 2016 they received new police cars

The Superintendent of the Montgomery Independent School District is Dr. Reagan Carter "Beau" Rees.

  • At the May 17, 2016 Montgomery Independent School District Board of Trustees meeting, the following names were chosen for the new schools to be built using the bonds approved in 2015: Lake Creek High School, Oak Hills Junior High School, Keenan Elementary School, and Lincoln Elementary School (Currently Montgomery Intermediate School)
