History

It was founded in 1988 by Stefano Casiraghi. Today the majority shareholder are his son Pierre Casiraghi and Andrea Casiraghi. The airline flies regular shuttle services between Nice Côte d'Azur Airport to Monaco Heliport.

In 2015 the airline signed a firm order for 6 Airbus Helicopters H130 aircraft for delivery between December 2015 and May 2016.

Official supplier to SAS the Sovereign Prince of Monaco since 1999.

Services

Based at Monaco’s heliport and all Nice Côte d’Azur airport terminals, Monacair offers a wide range of services in the Helicopter industry, with dedicated teams :

  • Helicopter management (Consulting, Housing, Pilots, Maintenance … )
  • Private chartered flights to all destinations
  • Handling to passengers (embarkment and disembarkment, luggage handling) & crew (refueling, hangars) for non-based private helicopters
  • Maintenance
  • Since January 2016, Monacair is the official Monegasque operator of the regular line between Monaco and Nice Côte d’Azur international airport (over 40 daily flights, with a scheduled every 15 min.)
  • In September 2015, soon after Monacair won the Monaco’s Gouvernement Princier’s call of tender, the medias echoed an exceptional order of 6 brand-new air conditioned single-engine H130 helicopters, mostly dedicated to the Monaco-Nice-Monaco regular line. Deliveries between December 2015 & end of April 2016. These helicopters are air-conditioned and fitted with enlarged trunks.

    Since June 2016, all Monacair's flights to Nice airport will be in codeshare with Air France, ableling passengers to catch connection flights in Côte d'Azur Airport.

    The company hopes to add a couple of Airbus A319-100LR. These aircraft would be used to start services from Nice Airport to several international destinations including Moscow, Dubai, New York, and Grand Cayman as well as European destinations including Paris, London and Most Of Switzerland.
