Monégasque identity card

The Monégasque identity card (in French: Carte d’identité Monégasque Electronique or CIME) is issued to Monégasque citizens by the Monaco City Hall. It can be used as a travel document when visiting countries in the Schengen Area, as well as to Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Moldova, Montenegro, and Romania. (IATA states it's also valid for the UK, although no other information suggests this) The card is issued with a validity of 10 years free of charge (unless applying for a replacement in the event of loss or theft). The card is produced for the Monaco City Hall by Oberthur Technologies.

Since 30 March 2009, Monégasque identity cards have been issued containing a biometric chip.
