Molly Potter (born Mary C. Potter) is a psychologist and researcher in the field of cognitive science. She was a fellow of the National Science Foundation's Graduate Research Fellowship Program in 1956, four years after receiving her B.A. from Swarthmore College. In 1961 she earned her Ph.D. in Psychology from Harvard University.

Work

Potter was among the scientists who discovered and initially studied Patient HM. Potter's research and the classes she teaches at MIT focus on experimental methods to study human cognition, thereby revealing the implicit data structures and algorithms used by the human brain.
