Moinuddin Pur

Moinuddin Pur Syedan (معین الدین پور) is a village located on the outskirts of Gujrat city. The village is named after a sufi saint, Syed Moinuddin Chishti Gharib Nawaz (RA).

Majority of the residents of Moin-ud-din Pur Syedan are living descendants of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAWAW) via Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq (A.S) this is the reason they are called Syed or Jaffari. Majority of the residents belong to Sunni Islam but rapidly converting to Shia Islam. In 1932 only one family converted to Shia Islam but now in 2017 hundreds of families in Moinuddin Pur are Shia.
