Company history

The founder and CEO of MobiCart is Wladimir Baranoff-Rossine. In 2010 the company first exhibited its technology at the DEMO conference, and its first customer was the European airline Flybe. In 2011 the company received $500,000 in financing from the Finance for Business North East Angel Fund. In 2012 MobiCart then secured an additional $500,000 from the Finance for Business North East Proof of Concept Fund and the Yorkshire Association of Business Angels. MobiCart officially ceased trading on 31/01/2017 sending all it's customers an apology email. The MobiCart website, API and associated apps are all offline as of 01/02/2017.

MobiCart apps

MobiCart online stores can serve as stand-alone applications without integration into a company's website, or they can be integrated into a company's website. Users set-up independently and run their own online stores for mobile devices. Adding more products than the free plan allows results in a monthly subscription fee to keep the shop open. The stores initially accepted their payment from customers through PayPal, before partnering with the company ZooZ. In May 2012 the company expanded its software to include the development of apps for Android devices and iPads. In 2012 it also launched a HTML5 Web App, which allowed it to be used on next-generation mobile devices. The company has been the recipient of several awards for its mobile apps.
