Mister Roberts is a 1984 television film that was originally broadcast live and adapted from the play by Thomas Heggen and Joshua Logan, based on Heggens novel, and starring Robert Hays as Doug Roberts and Charles Durning as the captain.
Set aboard a navy cargo ship during World War II, this comedic drama follows Lt. Doug Roberts (Robert Hays, Airplane!), who battles boredom and a tyrannical captain to the admiration of Ensign Pulver, Doc, and the crew.
